Our experienced metalsmith has spent many years working with Cornish tin, inlaying it into solid gold, silver, or platinum bands.
The design process begins with sketches and agreeing the design and sizes with the customer – whether that’s a simple Cornish tin band or a more detailed gold ring inlay pattern.
The ring is first handmade in your chosen metal and carefully sized to fit.
A custom tool is then used to create a precise channel around the band – or to cut out the shape of the chosen design.
Molten tin is poured into this space, filling it accurately and evenly.
Once the tin has cooled and set, the ring is polished and finished to your specifications.
We use a rare and limited supply of Cornish tin from the South Crofty mine – a direct link to Cornwall’s last working tin deposit.
